Sample Collection Instructions (Equine Faecal Test Kit)

Please read carefully before collecting your sample.

Hygiene and Preparation

• Wash hands thoroughly before sample collection. Sterile gloves may be used if preferred.
• Select a fresh sample, avoiding contamination from bedding, soil, hay, or stable surroundings.

Sample Collection

Using the sterile tweezers provided:

Option A (direct small sample):

• Collect approximately 100mg of faecal material (a very small amount; see kit guide image for reference).
• Place directly into the bead tube.

Option B (recommended method):

• Collect a larger faecal sample and place it into the sterile bag provided.
• Place the tweezers into the second sterile bag provided.
• In a clean, disinfected area, extract the required small sample from the larger sample.
• This method is recommended for horses on turnout or when droppings are fibrous or difficult to handle in the field.

Preserving the Sample

• Place the sample into the bead tube.
• Ensure the sample is fully covered by the preservative liquid.
• Secure the lid tightly and shake gently if required.
• The preservative is essential; if the sample dries out, DNA analysis may be compromised.

Return Shipping

• Place the sealed bead tube back into the UN3373 / IATA-compliant padded envelope.
• Return the sample to the laboratory as instructed.

Processing Time

Please allow 8–10 weeks from receipt of the sample for results to be delivered by email.

International Shipping Note

The return envelope is not pre-paid due to UN3373 transport regulations. Customers are responsible for arranging return postage.

For customers in the USA, USPS Priority Mail is recommended as a reliable and efficient option for customs clearance.

Please keep the kit in a cool dark place and once the sample has been taken keep the tube in the fridge.

Customs Information

When a package is delivered internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, or fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are typically applied upon arrival.

Buyers are generally responsible for paying any applicable customs charges in accordance with local regulations.

Please note:
Sellers are responsible for complying with the laws and regulations of the destination country.

Customs Declarations (Important)

Returned samples must not be declared as commercial goods.

Incorrect declarations may result in additional import charges, which we are unable to cover.

Any customs charges resulting from incorrect declarations will be the responsibility of the sender.

Returns Policy

Due to the nature of our products, all microbiome testing kits and associated consumable materials are subject to the following returns policy.

Returns

• Return requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of delivery.
• Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original condition to be eligible for return.
• Returns sent without prior written authorisation will not be eligible for a refund.

Non-Refundable Items

We are unable to offer refunds for:

• Opened or used testing kits
• Kits where sample materials, packaging, or consumables have been opened, damaged, or tampered with
• Orders returned outside the approved returns window
• Digital services, consultations, report generation, or analysis services once work has commenced or been delivered

Refunds

• Approved refunds will be processed once returned items have been received and inspected.
• Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the item was supplied in error or is confirmed as faulty.
• Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you receive a faulty, damaged, or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery, including your order details and photographs where appropriate. We will review the issue and arrange a suitable resolution.

International Orders

For international shipments, customers are responsible for any import duties, customs charges, VAT, or local taxes applied by the destination country.

We are not responsible for delays, additional charges, or non-delivery resulting from customs processes or unpaid import fees.
